80 years after he started making wine on the Northland gumfields, Josip’s sons created ‘The Patriarch’ label to honour their father, the founder of Babich Wines.
This, our flagship label, is grown on our Irongate vineyard in the Gimblett Gravels. With this wine we allow ourselves complete flexibility to make it the best it can be. We’re not committed to particular varieties or blends and we restrict crop levels to get the best flavours from our grapes. This wine is the best we produce every vintage – a drop to make Josip proud.
