But by the late 40s there were only two horses left; Old Bob, an aging half-Clydesdale who liked to take his time, and Trigger, a younger gelding who had energy to burn. Like a good winemaker, experience had taught Bob a few things. When the two horses were yoked together for the bigger jobs, the older horse cleverly made sure he was half a step behind young Trigger, letting his smaller work mate take most of the load.
